April 2026 Release Notes

Roundup of Recent Product Updates

We know you're running programs where showing up matters — where volunteers are core to mission delivery, not a nice extra. These updates are built to help you operate with more precision, more trust, and more visibility across your programs. Here's what's new.

Administrative Control — Manage Access Your Way

New Visibility / Privacy Settings for your Opportunities

Running credentialed, multi-track programs means you need precision over who sees what and who can register. Back in January, we implemented a new model that’s more powerful and more precise. Here’s how things have changed:

  • Visibility controls who can discover an Opportunity: Public, Private (by Credential, Participant Group, or Affiliation), or Unlisted.
  • Accessibility controls who can register: Open to all who can see it, or Restricted to specific criteria.

This means you can, for example, make an Opportunity publicly discoverable while restricting sign-ups to volunteers who hold a specific credential — perfect for specialized programs that need broad awareness but qualified participants.

All existing Opportunities were automatically migrated to the new model, so your programs continue to work exactly as before. New flexibility is available whenever you're ready to use it.

Granular Roles & Permissions (Select Availability) — This gives administrators significantly more control over what different users can see and do within the platform. Reach out to support@goldenvolunteer.com to learn more.

Platform Improvements

We've been making improvements across the platform — for volunteers and organizers alike.

Hours Logging from Post-Registration Pages — Volunteers can now log hours directly from their post-registration confirmation pages, removing the friction of navigating to a separate screen. Less clicking, more doing.

Unique Volunteer Completions in Insights — We've added a new metric to the Insights dashboard: Unique Volunteer Completions. This helps you distinguish between the total number of completions and the number of distinct volunteers who completed opportunities — a critical difference when measuring program reach.

Clickable Hyperlinks in Custom Question – URLs entered in Custom Question templates are now automatically rendered as clickable links, saving volunteers the copy-paste step.

Trust and Compliance

We’ve also shipped several updates to help your organization stay accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.

Parental Consent in Exports — The Registrations & Attendance export CSV now includes parental consent information: whether a participant is a minor, the guardian's name and email, and whether consent has been provided.

Legal Names on Background Checks — The legal name submitted during a background check is now displayed directly in the participant's profile card.

Improved Check Status Tracking — The dashboard now clearly differentiates between volunteers who haven't started a background check and those whose results are still pending.

Your Data, Where You Need It

Your volunteer data is more valuable when it lives where your team already works. We're building the pipes to make that happen.

Snowflake Data Pipeline (Limited Access) — Golden supports a direct data pipeline to Snowflake. Organizations that rely on Snowflake for analytics and reporting will be able to get their volunteer data flowing in automatically — no manual exports required.

Microsoft Fabric Integration (Limited Access) — For teams in the Microsoft ecosystem, Golden will soon integrate with Microsoft Fabric, giving your data and BI teams a reliable, real-time feed of your volunteer program data.
