Fundraiser Opportunities
Fundraiser Opportunities allow organizers to quickly create a crowdfunding page to recruit donations in many forms—money, stock, crypto, and more—in just a few clicks.
While you may have experience hosting fundraisers on other platforms, the advantage here is greater visibility into the overall engagement patterns of your participants (volunteers, donors, and other supporters) and their contributions over their lifetimes.
Why We're Excited
Reaching participants where they are is the final frontier for development programs.
In many cases, fundraising teams have operated separately from volunteering teams within organizations, even when engaging with the same individuals. This results in noisy communication and suboptimal outreach.
Donation Opportunities and other donation tools in Golden are designed to bring the development office into the volunteer management workflow and encourage internal collaboration around engagement with your organization.
These tools allow you to bring your existing donation processing technology services into volunteering workflows, and Golden provides a seamless option as a baseline when you don't have a third-party system already in place.
Donation Opportunities are the first of many products designed to show Development Teams and Volunteering teams the whole person they're trying to engage, offer complete context of that person's journey to understanding your organization and its mission, and build enough trust for that person to give your teams permission to solicit more engagement from them in the ways they are most comfortable.
We want volunteers to be eager to donate—so they can reach their full potential as supporters of your program. Vice versa, we want your donors to become aware of the many other ways they can advance your programs between their gifts, increasing their propensity to give in the future.
Fundraiser Opportunities are available for all Golden plan types, enabling you to transform more volunteers into lifelong donors.

Analyzing Donations
The Golden Dashboard puts all of the relevant information to analyze donations right at your fingertips! See below for our best-practice recommendations to analyze your donations.
Managing All Donations
To quickly analyze all donations, we recommend utilizing the Insights page! The Insights page works dynamically with several filtering options at your disposal. The Insights export is a granular report that provides a breakdown of all participant history, and the export now includes donation information.
This page also includes a filter for the Opportunity type.
Managing a Specific Fundraiser Opportunity
For a specific Fundraiser Opportunity, you can click on the title to be taken to the Opportunity Management page. From here you can see the history of all of the donations. The donors will have a "row" for each donation that was made.
Managing a Specific Donor
The Golden Dashboard also allows organizers to analyze donations at the individual level through the Participant Profile—found by clicking the names of the participants. The aggregated participant donation value will be shown in the top banners, and the individual donations will show in the registration history at the bottom of the page.
Note that each Participant's Deep Influence measures that person's ability to activate volunteer hours and donations from others with whom they share links to your Opportunities.
Donor Group Segmentation
In addition to everything described above, Golden segments donors into their own Groups, much like the autogenerated groups that Golden creates when volunteers complete an Opportunity.
For more about using Groups, see: How to use the Groups feature
What is the Experience of the Donor?
Potential donors can be shared links to Fundraiser Opportunities, just like other Opportunity types on Golden.
Once a donor decides they would like to make a contribution and clicks the "Donate" button, they are taken to a donation page that connects to your organization through the Tax ID input in the Opportunity.
Donors are able to submit their donations through this page, which accepts various types of payment options.
Donors can also view their donation history through Certificates, which are available to participants/donors through the Portal website or on the "My Opportunities" tab of the Portal website.
You can also connect your Golden account to FundraiseUp to collect donations.
