How Do I Block a Participant?
Blocking a participant prevents them from registering for any of your organization's opportunities in the future. When you block a participant, they're automatically added to your organization's "**Blocked" group and will no longer be able to sign up for your events.
Steps to block a participant:
- Navigate to the opportunity where the participant is registered
- Find the participant in your registrations list
- Click on the participant's registration to view details
- Select "Cancel Registration" from the available actions
- In the cancellation modal, check the option to "Block Participant"
- Provide a reason for blocking (this will be sent to the participant)
- Click "Block Participant" to confirm
What happens when you block a participant:
When you block a participant, several things occur automatically:
- Their current registration is canceled immediately
- They're added to the "**Blocked" participant group in your organization
- They receive a cancellation notification with the reason you provided
- They're prevented from registering for any future opportunities with your organization
- They will no longer receive notifications about the canceled event
Important notes:
- Blocked participants are organized in a special "**Blocked" group that's automatically created for your organization
- The blocking applies across all of your organization's opportunities, not just the one they were registered for
- You can provide a reason for the block, which helps maintain clear communication and documentation
- Blocking works for both completed and missed registrations - the participant's status will be preserved, but they'll be added to the blocked group
Managing blocked participants:
Once a participant is blocked, they're added to your organization's "**Blocked" participant group. You can view and manage blocked participants through your participant groups in the dashboard.
