How Do I Integrate Golden with Virtuous?

To get started syncing your data between Golden and Virtuous, contact your Customer Success Manager.

The Basics

Before diving into the details of this integration, let's begin with discussing two essential points:

• The Golden integration supports two authentication methods: you can use either an API key from Virtuous or your Virtuous username and password. If using username and password, Golden uses an OAuth token to access the Virtuous API. Your credentials are only used to generate the OAuth token and are not stored in Golden.
• This is a one-way integration, meaning volunteers are synced from your Golden platform to your Virtuous CRM.

How Do I Keep My Data Clean?

When Golden sends data directly to your Virtuous CRM, the system will try to find existing contacts that match the volunteer before creating new ones. This helps ensure clean data and reduce possible duplicates.

Email addresses are used to deduplicate volunteers. Once a contact is found or created, Golden stores the Virtuous ID for the contact with the volunteer in Golden and then uses that contact in the future.

If using the import option tool, the Virtuous admin will be responsible for deduplicating the volunteers.
