[Managing Volunteers](https://support.goldenvolunteer.com/knowledge_base/organizer-resources?hsLang=en#managing-volunteers) October 15, 2026 # Logging Hours on behalf of your Participants (in the Dashboard) In addition to scheduled events, many organizations ask their participants to perform tasks on their own time. The best way to structure these is by using the "Flexible Timing & Location" template to create Opportunities that ask participants to report back directly to you on the work they've completed. However, using the Dashboard, you can also manually update a participant's actions on their behalf (you'll need to create the Opportunity first, of course!). Here are the steps: 1. Navigate to the Opportunities tab and open the "My Opportunities" sub-tab, then select the Opportunity for which you want to add a participant's hours. 2. Use the Log Completed Hours button and select the participant(s) you are awarding hours for. - Note that you can also use the CSV upload feature to log completed hours. 3. Select the date & time that the completed hours were fulfilled (unique to Ongoing Opportunity types, since there are no timeslots). 4.
