Tracking Corporate Engagement
Affiliating
Volunteers can affiliate with their company during registration for an opportunity. Ensure one of these methods is in place for all opportunities—without this affiliation, the system cannot track volunteer association with companies.
Method 1: Company Affiliation Field Select "Company Affiliation" from the rectangular pre-set options in the Extras (5) tab of the Opportunity Creator. During registration, volunteers will be prompted to select from a dropdown menu that includes all entities listed in the Partners section of My Network, or they can enter their own company name.
Method 2: Custom Reservation Use a Custom Reservation by entering the company's name and their lead contact's email address.
Data Consistency Note: Golden is case-sensitive and will treat "Home Depot" and "The Home Depot Company" as different entities. For consistent reporting, we can disable volunteers from entering their own company names during registration—ask your client strategist to enable this setting.
To maintain data quality when using Company Affiliation, spend time curating your list of companies in the Partners section of My Network. Use Create New Partner to add companies to your list. Note that Invite Partners requires action from the lead contact to complete the addition. For Aggregator accounts, partners can be added directly from the Partners page. For all other account types, partners are added to this list via Custom Reservation or through volunteer Company Affiliation during registration.
Once a company becomes a Partner, it will appear in the dropdown menu volunteers see during registration. It will also show up in your dashboard's dropdown menu (top right), though navigating into their account isn't recommended for tracking—there are more efficient reporting methods.
Reporting Out
If volunteers are properly affiliated with their companies, you have several ways to gain insights into corporate engagement.
From the Insights Tab Select the company name in the Company field. This pulls the same information as filtering by the Groups field. Use the quick summary numbers that display mid-screen, or get a detailed report by clicking Export Insights.
From the Partners Section of My Network Toggle to the Participant Engagement view for a high-level overview showing volunteer count, upcoming registrations, and past registrations for each company in your network.
Managing the Group
In the Groups tab of My Participants, you'll find a section titled Partner Affiliated Groups. Here you can:
- Message all participants of the group using the envelope icon
- Click on a group name to Add Group Members via search or upload (note: this will send a notification inviting them to create an account)
