Using the New Privacy Settings
When creating or editing an Opportunity, you'll find the new Privacy Settings in the same location as before, but with enhanced options.
Setting Visibility
- Choose your Visibility level: Public, Private, or Unlisted
- If you select Private, specify at least one restriction:
- Select a Credential or Credential Package that Participants must have completed
- Choose one or more Participant Groups that can view the Opportunity
- Select one or more Affiliations (Organizations) that can view the Opportunity
- Optionally, hide the Share Button to prevent link sharing
Setting Accessibility
- Choose your Accessibility level: Open or Restricted
- If you select Restricted:
- If you also set Visibility to Private, you can check "Same as selections above" to use the same criteria
- Otherwise, specify at least one restriction:
- Select a Credential or Credential Package that Participants must have completed
- Choose one or more Participant Groups that can register
- Select one or more Affiliations (Organizations) that can register
Validation Requirements
To ensure your privacy settings work correctly, the system requires:
- Private visibility must have at least one Credential, Participant Group, or Affiliation selected
- Restricted accessibility must have at least one Credential, Participant Group, or Affiliation selected (unless using "Match Visibility")
If you try to save without meeting these requirements, you'll see a helpful message explaining what's needed.
Batch Editing Privacy Settings
You can update Privacy Settings for multiple Opportunities at once. When batch editing:
- Select multiple Opportunities from your Opportunity Management page
- Choose "Edit Privacy Settings" from the bulk actions menu
- Any settings you configure are applied to all selected Opportunities
- Existing registrations are not affected by the changes
Batch editing is perfect for quickly updating visibility across similar programs or adjusting accessibility requirements for an entire series of events.
