Let's Get Started

Golden is committed to continue to iterate on new and impactful ways to empower our Organizer users with the tools to run their program in an automated way so that you can spend your time on the things that matter, like volunteers, working with your colleagues, and recognizing Golden moments.

We are happy to announce that you can now create Video Opportunities in the Dashboard! Video Opportunities are a way that you can present a volunteer with a video and we will track if they have completed viewing the video. This is a great addition to automated vetting processes.

This article will explain how Video Opportunities work and how you can get started.

How do Video Opportunities Work?

Video Opportunities are Opportunity types that can be viewed at any time if the volunteer meets any criteria that can be set. You can attach a video file to the Opportunity in the Dashboard and Golden will ensure that they watch the video through its entirety. When, and only if, the volunteer completes the entire length of the video, we will place them in the completed status.

The creation process is streamlined - you will be able to add descriptions, collect participant profile information, ask custom questions, and provide additional details to give your volunteers a clear understanding of what is expected!

Sounds Great! How Do I Begin?

  1. In order to get started creating this Opportunity, select the Video Opportunity type from the list in the Dashboard.
  1. On the About page, fill out the opportunity name and descriptions including Purpose, Action, and Full Descriptive Text. You can also add tags to make it easier for volunteers to find the opportunity. This is where you will choose which profile details you want to collect from volunteers if applicable. You can also control who signs up by adjusting the privacy settings. See this article for more information about privacy settings.
  1. On the Participant Details page, you can configure custom questions, age considerations, and other participant-specific settings.
  1. On the Images & Video page, you will be asked to upload a photo and the video file. See What Makes a Good Photo? for best practice recommendations on image upload.

After that, you are Golden! You have created a Video Opportunity and you can begin to track volunteer activity as they complete the video.
