What Settings Can I Control in the Blackbaud CRM Integration?

Your organization can control aspects of the Blackbaud CRM integration with various settings in Golden. The following settings can be changed by clicking the settings icon on the integration card in the dashboard Settings > Integrations page.

Overwrite existing name fields

When this setting is checked (which it is by default), Golden will send first, middle, and last names to CRM even when updating an existing constituent. If this setting is turned off, Golden will not update name fields when it finds existing constituents that match a volunteer.

Deduplicate using name and email

By default, Golden will try to find a matching constituent by email address before creating a new one. When this setting is checked, Golden will match on both email address and name when searching for existing constituents. This is useful if your organization has multiple volunteers using the same email address, such as families. When both email and name are used, Golden performs a fuzzy search on the name to help find matches even with slight variations.

Email, phone, and address types

Blackbaud CRM requires Golden to indicate the type of data we are reporting to it. Using the dropdown menus, you'll need to select which email, phone, and address types Golden should assign when sending contact information for a constituent. The available options in these dropdowns are pulled directly from your Blackbaud CRM instance, so they reflect the types configured in your CRM system.
