Why can't I ask volunteers to register on a website outside of Golden?

Golden is designed to provide a seamless, end-to-end experience for volunteers - and they love it! From our research, we've found that volunteers are 3.7x more likely to volunteer with you again when they discover you and register for your opportunities via Golden vs. any other platform.

That's because it is such an easy and integrated experience - they have all the basic info they need to know when deciding whether to sign up for your opportunity at their fingertips (such as a specific time, specific place, and specific tasks). 

Golden automatically helps you, the Organizer, display all of that info by asking you quick and carefully designed questions during the Opportunity Creation process. We use your responses to those questions to target opportunities to the right audiences, based on their eligibility and interests. In other words, Golden automatically handles your existing screening and scheduling process for you.

We request that you do not redirect volunteers to register again on an outside URL. Statistically, this results in fewer sign-ups and lower volunteer ratings because you will not know if the volunteers are qualified until you run them through a separate process, they will not fully understand what they are signing up to do (purpose and role), and in the time between their initial interest and your correspondence, your availability and their schedules will likely change.
