Skills-Based Volunteer Opportunities
At Golden, we want to ensure that anytime a Volunteer sees an Opportunity in their Feed, they never have to wonder if they're qualified to participate. Therefore, all Open Opportunities have no skill requirements.
However, Organizations can create Private opportunities with targeted audiences to reach specific groups of volunteers. Here's how our privacy settings work:
Open — Available to the public. Anyone can discover and sign up for this Opportunity.
Private-Open — Discoverable by logged-in Participants in the target Audience(s). Anyone sent the link can sign up, making this ideal for sharing opportunities with specific communities while still allowing broader participation.
Private-Closed — Both discovery and sign-ups are restricted to logged-in Participants in the target Audience(s). This setting is perfect for opportunities that require specific qualifications or training.
Private-Unlisted — Sign-ups are restricted to logged-in Participants in the target Audience(s), but the Opportunity is not discoverable through search or browsing. It can only be reached through share links and spot reservation links.
These privacy settings allow Organizations to target Affiliations or Groups, such as "trained volunteers," while still encouraging Organizations to expose more innovative opportunities to involve community members with their missions!
